Who We Are
Tubman is a diverse community of learners committed to equity and ensuring our scholars are empowered to question, challenge and change the world. We offer a comprehensive academic program. Students take science in Spanish daily in addition to specials including wellness, library, art, music and PE. Tubman has its own Farmer's Market and is Community School partnering with Mary's Center. We offer a comprehensive family engagement program as well as after school programming including karate, Zumba, soccer and theater. Before and After Care are provided through Champions. We use Creative Curriculum for our youngest learners allowing them to learn organically through thematic play. We invite you to join our families and partner with us in creating a loving and rigorous neighborhood school!

Our Mission and Vision
Through a united student, staff and family community, we foster an environment committed to excellence and love where students take pride in making their own choices. We value and respect our community allowing us to develop the hearts and minds of our students so that they achieve at their highest levels and are empowered to question, challenge, and change the world.
DCPS Anti-Discriminatory Statement
District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) is committed to creating a discrimination-free environment. DCPS does not discriminate and does not tolerate discrimination in its education programs or activities (including employment therein or admission thereto) on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, disability, religion, national origin, sex (including sexual harassment and sexual assault), age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family status, family responsibilities, matriculation, political affiliation, genetic information, source of income, credit information, or status as a victim or family member of a victim of domestic violence, sexual offense or stalking.
Local School Advisory Team (LSAT)
The Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) is a group of elected and appointed members that exists for every DCPS school. The team (formerly the Local School Restructuring Teams) consists of parents, teachers, non-instructional school staff, a community member, and in some cases students, to advise the principal on matters that promote high expectations and high achievement for all students.
